I’m Alessia Gebauer, a PhD candidate in critical media industry studies at the Media & Communication department of the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication in Rotterdam.

My research focuses on how streaming platforms negotiate television’s production cultures, catalogue dynamics, and algorithmic governance.

Previously, I have worked as an audio engineer focused on systems engineering and live recording, as well as a front-end quality assurance technician.
